萩の彩陶庵にて、展示会、【鏡 かがみ 鑑】が開催されております。
鏡は私たちの日常生活に欠かすことのできないもののひとつ、その起源は人類と同じほど古く、人々の宝物や祭事の器として大切に使われてきました。その不思議な性質は人々の好奇心を刺激し、鏡占いをはじめ、文学や美術作品の素材としても多く用いられてきました。
作品は時代を映す『鏡』、作家自身を映す『鏡』とも言い表されるように、現代作家としての作品表現は、時代を表すリアリティと独自性を追求し具現化を試みています。
こちらは、萩の陶芸家・金子司の作品、今回の目玉は、百色眼鏡、穴を覗くと不思議な光が。

【鏡 かがみ 鑑】

Saitoan in Hagi now shines the spotlight on mirrors. Mirrors are indispensable to our lives. It has an ancient origin as old as human beings. People treated mirrors respectfully as a treasure or a shrine ritual item. Its mysterious power stimulates people’s curiosity, and they have been used as a subject matter for literature and art, at other times as an item for fortune telling. As is often said that an art work is a reflection of the times or the artist him/herself, the artists try to pursue the reality to describe the times and their identity, and they cast their ideas into shape. Here are some photos of Kaneko Tsukasa’s works. His prime exhibit is HYAKUIRO MEGANE (Literally meaning “One hundred colour eye glasses”). When you look into the hole, you’ll see what is more than you can imagine!
